February tourneys update
The Grandslam on moo2d is running at full speed now. In the Newschool tourney on ikbrowny, a surprising winner prevailed when Nosturi (Fi) took his premiere finale appearance and defeated Tobi (Ger). A special shoutout for Marax (Po), who nearly downed Nosturi in the semis.

March tourneys starting
Oldschool will see a slow-paced hide&seek tourney on dweller2 map11 to balance out the speedy moo2d, meanwhile NS goes experimental with cybercrime3 map03. Railguns, fog, extravaganza!

February 10th, 2011

February finally here
The OS Grandslam finally arrived and it's going to get played on moo2d, a classic of the faster paced kind. To spice it up, it's to 30 frags in best of three fashion, complete with double elimination! Accompanying new school tourney will revisit ikbrowny, just this time with all the fancy nonsense people got used to use there. So get signed up!

Old stuff
The huge wsnakes tourney reached the climax and it was Tobi who freed the cake and ate the princess! The man behind the snakes, worst, lost to him the second time in the grand final. Third place goes to Ragnarok after his impressive rampage through the whole loser bracket.
January's New School on map11 of the Zdaemon community mapping project got severely dominated by Sniper who took out Spirit in the final.
The mirroring Old School tourney on lazarus map04 saw Devisin win her second title after she defeated yours truly. Shenanigans, I say!

January update
The late January tourneys are finally here. OS Grandslam has been moved to February, so it's two regular tourneys this month. OS bracket of lazarus map04; NS bracket of 1on1comp map11.
December's wsnakes tourney is still running, but final stages are upon us. Faster, longer snakes will battle for the ultimate prize - uhh, I forgot what it was.

January 8th, 2011

Entering third year of tournaments
It's true, we've been running the current form of Euro 1on1 tourneys for 2 full years. That's 24 OS and NS tournaments each and 3 intermediate spinoffs. I'd vomit out more ridiculous stats about total player numbers or frags or kilometers traveled ingame, but that's Gyross' speciality and I'd probably screw it up. Anyways, go us! Let's hope it lasts.

December tournaments report
Open Tourney December 2010 (uroburos). The repetition of 2008 Dec test tourney had a surprise winner! Or not, because Sniper managed to hold his 2 year old title. But it was his first official tourney victory, so congrats. The runner up was more unexpected, finals firstcomer Nosturi might be a rising star.

Newschool Tourney December 2010: (wsnakes) are still in full rage, the tourney has entered the second half and battles get more intensive. This is it, baby!

January tournaments registration
Old School Tourney will be played on lazarus map04 with the typical North American OS settings.

In New School we will visit one of the maps from the 1on1 mapping competition. Opposing to the "alternative" OS settings things will be pretty conservative around here, namely no jumping!

December tournaments starting
SOON! Just gotta fiddle with a thing or two...

November tournaments report
Newschool Tourney November 2010 (udmx map22). Rottking's FFA map made a great ultra-NS map after some patching. With Belgians and Gyross out of the way Tobi claimed a tourney title, finally cashing in on his consistency under NS/item respawn settings.

Open Tourney November 2010 (danzig1 map13). A super oldschool map where Titan was a huge favourite, but Devisin trained night and day to join Tobi (and get her revenge on him) in winning her first title. Impressive run!

October tournaments report
Open Tourney October 2010 (2high2care) is Nero's map finished literally the day this tourney started. An oldschool map combining d5m1, entryway and tnt map01 favoured classic players, although capodecima's final appearance was a bit unexpected. wabe defeated him to win the tourney with only one match played after a streak of forfeits, hehe.

Newschool Grandslam October 2010 (brit11 map05) saw one of the most respected NS duel maps. Gyrossman, a heavy favourite here, forfeited quite early. That made dew's life much easier and he claimed his second Grandslam title this year after beating Devisin quite decisively in the finals.

September tournaments report
Open Tourney September 2010 (brit10 map02), saw a lot of superheavy fragging. Sniper and Devisin had a good run here, but both of them were ended by the victor - Gyrossman.

Newschool Tourney September 2010 (mano1on1) is a little weird map for patient players. Gyrossman survived an early 1-frag difference thriller with Sniper and continued to march on to victory, beating even Tobi in the finals. An impressive double for Gyross!

Old stuff closure
Open Grandslam July 2010 (Doom2 map01), was won by turSKA when he beat ocelot in two close rounds. Titan ended 3rd. Thus endeth the greatest tourney we ever ran, oh good times. YAY EVIL!

Open Tourney August 2010 (foxtrot) ended with an epic final where wabe beat Gyrossman by mere 1 frag. This proved to be a great quick tourney with fun everywhere.

Newschool Tourney August 2010 (tlsd2004 map01), was dominated by Mortalogy who beat even his brother welkin by a large margin in the finals. That was unusual, right? Well, both of them retired from tourneys after the match, so perhaps PR wasn't important anymore. Be well, guys!

September 2nd, 2010

Admin team update
Tobi replaced cybershark as a NS tourney admin. Good luck and strong nerves!

September tournaments registration
Old School Tourney for this month will be played on one of the FFA classics. After foxtrot, it's another rushy - hard to camp - map, brit10 map02. Hopefully we'll get some good games there.

New School Tourney map is a really huge one, mano1on1. I know this map but I have no idea what the game-flow will be like in a tournament match. Sign-up and find out!

Running tournaments update
Open Grandslam July 2010 (Doom2 map01), 5 games left between three Fins and two Czechs.

Newschool Tourney July 2010 (elv3se), Tobi lost to Mortal 18-30 in his first final appearance. Resulting into Mortal's sixth NS tourney win from seven sign-ups.

Open Tourney August 2010 (foxtrot), new, dynamic, fast-paced map. That calls for few letdowns for players who are used to rock all the classic maps, and bam, Devi made it happen by beating turSKA in first round. She had a great run through the brackets, it was however finished by her 46-50 lose to Gyrossman in the semifinals. The other side of the bracket is yet to be filled, hopefully we won't have to wait for too long for completing those last 4 games.

Newschool Tourney August 2010 (tlsd2004 map01), 1 game left to be played. And that would be classic match-up between Mortalogy and welkin.

The July NS tournament is on elv3se and has 13 players in brackets.

July 17th, 2010

July tournaments are on now! And it's Grandslam time again, this time on classic old ultimate 1v1 map, however you wanna call it, it's D2M1! With some new rules implied. Double elimination and best-of-3 games in later rounds. No brackets yet, but it will be BOMB!

The July NS tournament is on elv3se and has 13 players in brackets.

July 2nd, 2010

Kinda forget to write anything about June tournament, but nobody cares so it's all good. Those two months in one sentence: Mortalogy defended his tournament wins in both tournaments in both May and June.

OS tourneys had two completely different maps, the May map was azdwango map05 which was really d5m1-ish. Sniper came really close once again, losing the final game by just two frags. The June map was sap, which was really patient-based with lot of long range fights. It wasn't that close here, Mortal have won the final game against Gyross 40-31.

And Newschool tournaments. No big surprise here really, Mortal was dominating maps again. On 32in24-9 map21 in May, winning in finals against Gyross 35-21. In June on greenwar2 map06 he met his brother in finals and won 40-31.

May 8th, 2010

Hurray, April tournaments are over!

Newschool Grandslam (xc7) was finished first. Dew and Mortal once again met in the April GS. Insane SSG was all Mortalogy needed last year (brit10 map07), but it wasn't enough this time. There was BFG, there were fast rockets and chaingun and so dew took his first tournament win after beating Mortal 35-30. He's also the only guy who managed to beat turSKA in a grandslam.

OS tourney (dwango5 map07) finished just yesterday. Sniper had a good run, he beat both Belgium brothers on his way to final match (50-49 against Mortal) and so he could be very confident against Master, who played only first round. He had a free ticket to the finals thanks to DQs of his opponents. However, he proved two things. First, he'd most likely get in finals anyway, he snatched a win against Sniper 50-48 so he could celebrate his first tourney title since March 2009. And secondly... just see the forum thread...

What else do we got? Oh yeah, May tournaments! There will be a thing called match-ups from now on. That is, player vs. player stats and other useless, boring crap.
